WakeAlert — iPhone & Apple Watch
Most alarms stop caring the moment you tap them. WakeAlert keeps watching — using wrist motion and heart rate to tell the difference between awake and back asleep, and ringing again if you drifted off.
Coming soon to the App Store · iPhone (iOS 17.6+) · Apple Watch optional (watchOS 10.6+)
Features
Every part of WakeAlert exists to answer one question: are you actually up?
Your Apple Watch samples heart rate after the alarm. If your pulse settles back into sleep territory, WakeAlert rings again instead of assuming you're up.
Silencing the alarm can require real movement, not a thumb on a button. Get out of bed to make it stop.
A wrist tap wakes you without waking the room. Works alongside the phone alarm or on its own.
See how long it actually takes you to get up, which mornings you fell back asleep, and whether that's improving.
From gentle to genuinely alarming, so you can pick something you won't learn to sleep through.
No accounts, no servers, no analytics. Your alarms and health data never leave your devices. Read the policy →
How it works
Set it up once. After that WakeAlert runs the whole morning on its own.
Choose a sound, a snooze length, and how long WakeAlert should keep checking on you after you silence it.
Your phone sounds and your Watch taps. Depending on your settings, you may have to complete a wake challenge to silence it.
Through your wake window it tracks wrist motion and heart rate. Fall back asleep and it rings again. Stay up and it quietly logs the morning to your history.
